Graham Dorrans enjoyed his first preseason under new West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine.
It has been noticeable that there have been no grumbles from the players, who no doubt appreciate the importance and value of a productive pre-season.
Speaking about the new regime, Dorrans told the Birmingham Mail: "It's been good, I've enjoyed it.
"The gaffer has come in, training's been good, the boys have been enjoying it.
"We've been doing fitness the past couple of weeks and are starting to ease off a little bit now as the games come thick and fast, so it's just about getting that match fitness up."
