Donovan sends warning to MLS: It's going to be difficult to play against LA Galaxy

LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan has issued a warning to the rest of the Major League Soccer teams.

With hat-tricks in the past two matches coming from Donovan (in the 3-3 draw with FC Dallas) and Robbie Keane (in the weekend's 4-2 win over Real Salt Lake), the Galaxy attack is set to continue firing as the play-offs approach according to the former.

"I think it's going to be difficult going forward for teams to play against us," said Donovan.

"They clearly put some emphasis on trying to shut me down tonight, and if you do that, you're going to get punished by Robbie.

"If you try to put emphasis on both of us, then we get Gyasi [Zardes] back going again, Hector [Jimenez] played well, Juninho and Marcelo [Sarvas] were dangerous going forward. I would certainly not want to be a defensive back four or five playing against our team right now."

And Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena agreed: "If Robbie Keane gets enough chances, he's going to get some goals. Landon as well, and I think Gyasi is going to come around and get some goals for us as well."

The Galaxy next take on Costa Rican side Cartagines in the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League on Tuesday prior to the weekend's league trip to Vancouver Whitecaps.
