Roda JC striker Donis Avdijaj admits he rejected Europe's biggest clubs to stay with Schalke.
Avdijaj joined Roda on-loan in January after struggling for minutes at Schalke in the first-half of the season.
He explained: "After I had been loaned to Sturm Graz for one and a half seasons, I played quite a lot in the previous year, but this season I did not get any action under the new trainer. It was not a sporting issue, there was just no click between the trainer and I.
"After this season I am still under contract with Schalke for another year. Ninety percent of the footballers might think that's great, but I belong to the other ten percent. I just want to play. That is why I now play for Roda JC."
Avdijaj also revealed: "When I was 18 I could go to clubs like Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool. But I chose to stay with Schalke. In retrospect, that was not a happy choice."
