Belgium attacker Yannick Carrasco has completed his return to Atletico Madrid.
Carrasco returns two years after he left the club to join Chinese side Dalian Yifang.
The Belgian winger will be at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on loan until the end of the season, and his arrival comes after weeks of speculation regarding Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.
A move for the Uruguayan didn't come to fruition and, amidst an injury crisis, talks were accelerated to bring Carrasco back to the club.
One of the benefits of signing Carrasco is that Atletico did not have to pay a transfer fee, so they have avoided any potential salary limit concerns.
Faced with the impossible task of finding another striker with Cavani's quality, Atletico opted to turn their attention towards a winger and that led them to Carrasco.
