DONE DEAL: Wolves forward Renat Dadashov joins Tondela

Wolves forward Renat Dadashov has joined Tondela on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old striker returns to Portugal's top-flight having had previous success in the division with Pacos de Ferreira and Estoril, scoring four times in 22 appearances for the club ahead of his move to Molineux back in 2019.

An Azerbaijan international with seven caps to his name, Dadashov will be aiming to get a full season of football under his belt at CD Tondela after his entire 2020/21 campaign was taken away from him when he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in pre-season training.

“After a difficult year for Renat with his cruciate injury, he's worked really hard in that time to get himself really fit," Wolves chief Scott Sellars said. “He's got a great attitude and work ethic. He was really focused on getting back and was just about getting fit as the season finished.

“But now he's had the off-season period where he's worked hard, as he always does, and he's come back and trained with the first-team, which has been great for him.

“He's had some minutes with the first-team, which has helped his fitness and his confidence, and this will give him the platform for him to go and do well at Tondela."
