DONE DEAL: Wolves cut loose Miranda; send away Shabani and Matheson

Wolves have released Roderick Miranda from his contract.

The defender moved to Molineux in 2017 and played 19 times during the 2017/18 campaign, as Wolves returned to the Premier League.

Since then, the 29-year-old has spent time on loan at Olympiacos and Famalicao, before returning to the West Midlands last summer.

Now, Miranda departs on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, Wolves midfielder Meritan Shabani has joined Dutch Eredivisie outfit VVV-Venlo on loan until the end of the season.

The German youth international has spent the last six months developing with the under-23s having returned from a serious ACL injury in his right knee which he sustained on his first-team debut for Wolves against Reading in last season's Carabao Cup, putting him out of action for almost a year.

And Wolves youngster Luke Matheson has joined League One side Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old joined Wolves from Rochdale last January and this season has been a regular as part of James Collins' under-23 side, making nine appearances and scoring once.

The move will provide more senior experience for the right-back, who played 36 times for the Dale at League One level previously and scored a memorable Carabao Cup goal at Manchester United.
