DONE DEAL: Wijnaldum welcomes 'new challenge' at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Holland international - who will come off contract at Liverpool this month - had attracted interest from several European giants including Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

However, the 30-year-old chose the Ligue 1 side ahead of their competitors for the 2021-2022 season. The 30-year-old has agreed terms until 2024.

Speaking of his decision to join PSG, Wijnaldum said: "Signing for PSG is a new challenge for me.

"I'm joining one of the best squads in Europe and I want to bring all my desire and commitment to this ambitious project.

"PSG have proved how good they are in recent years and I'm convinced that together, with our supporters, we can go even further and higher."
