Watford have swooped for Portugal U17 defender Leandro Paiva.

O Jogo reports the 17-year-old central defender has joined from Neuchatel Xamax in Switzerland and has signed a professional five-year contract with the Hornets.

It also suggests Paiva will be used in the first team, rather than the developmental squad.

Paiva has been snapped wearing this season's Watford training kit.
