Watford have clinched the signing of Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr.

The Watford Observer says Sarr has joined Watford from Rennes after months of negotiations.

Talks between the two clubs for the Senegalese winger have been ongoing throughout the summer and it seemed as if the Hornets had almost lost their chance as the transfer deadline loomed.

However, the club has since confirmed the player will join for what will almost certainly be a club record fee.

The 21-year-old has 18 goals from 77 matches in total for Rennes, whom he joined after one season with French club Metz, where he scored five goals in 33 games.
