Villarreal have snapped up Rayo Vallecano defender Martin Pascual.

Pascual will play for Villarreal B on loan from the club from the Spanish capital.

The defender is the sixth summer signing for the Mini Submarine, who will play in Primera RFEF this season. He joins fellow new arrivals Iker Goujón, Alberto del Moral, Pablo Íñiguez, Carlos Pérez and Nikita Iosifov.

Pascual (born Madrid, 4th August 1999) is a centre-back whose height (1.9m) stands out, allowing him to dominate in the air, as well as being impressive with the ball at his feet.

Aged 21, he joins Villarreal B after spending the last two years with Rayo Vallecano. In the 2020/21 season, he played a total of 489 minutes over six games in Segunda División and two more in the cup.
