Valencia have clinched the signing of Zenit St Petersburg defender Ezequiel Garay.

Garay joins on a four year deal and is a welcome piece of good news for Pako Ayestaran's side.

The 29-year-old defender knows LaLiga well, after spending some time at both Real Madrid and Racing Santander.

With Shkodran Mustafi headed to Arsenal, another defender was needed to shore up the back four to avoid there becoming a thin position within the squad, so Garay's signing was very well received by otherwise disgruntled supporters.
