Sunderland have snapped up Everton striker Ellis Simms.

Simms moves to Sunderland on-loan for the season.

The young striker spent the second half of last season with Hearts in Scotland, where he scored seven goals in 21 games.

Simms could make his debut for Sunderland on Sunday when Coventry visit in the Championship's first round.

The youngster has managed one senior appearance for Everton.
