DONE DEAL: Paul Mitchell named Monaco sports director

Former Tottenham and Southampton football chief Paul Mitchell has been appointed sports director of AS Monaco.

Under the direction of vice-president Oleg Petrov, Mitchell will work for Monaco, from the Academy to the professional roster and partners Cercle Bruges.

Mitchell arrives alongside Laurence Stewart, who joins the club as Head of Recruitment and Sports Development. After experiences in Manchester City, Everton and within the English Federation, Stewart worked with Mitchell at Red Bull as Global Scouting Manager.

Mitchell said, "I look forward to joining AS Monaco. I would like to thank Mr. Oleg Petrov and the Club for their trust. I would also like to thank Red Bull for the years I spent with them.

"I am eager to take on my role, meet the teams and start working together to develop the project and establish a sustainable philosophy for the club."
