DONE DEAL: Nottingham Forest sign Toronto defender Laryea

Toronto FC have agreed to sell Canadian international defender Richie Laryea to Nottingham Forest.

The Championship club are completing the signing immediately, with 27-year-old Laryea heading to England for the first time.

The defender has earned 22 caps for Canada, while he has been with his boyhood club Toronto FC since March 2019.

He played 33 games last season, managing three goals and one assist.

"It has been a pleasure to see Richie blossom here at his hometown club and become a full member of the Canadian National Team," said Toronto FC President Bill Manning in a statement.

"Richie thrilled our fans with his explosive speed, incredible dribbling and commitment to win. We worked closely with Richie and his representation on this transaction as he follows his dream to play in England and wish him all the best as he moves on to Nottingham Forest."
