Newcastle United youngster Lewis Cass has joined Port Vale on a loan deal.
The defender will join the League Two club to build on last season's loan stint at Hartlepool United.
"I'm delighted to sign on a season-long loan to a club with a massive ambition to get into League One," Cass told nufc.co.uk. "Last season was great for me personally and I'm hoping this season I can prove that I'm able to compete at this level.
"I'm looking forward to pushing myself to improve at a higher level to hopefully come back to Newcastle and be closer to a first team place.
"I'm hoping to improve myself this season both technically and physically as well as learning the knowledge of the game a lot more. I'm hoping to play as many games as possible - and hopefully that gets us promoted."
