DONE DEAL: Man Utd defender Regan Poole happy to make Newport return

Manchester United defender Regan Poole is delighted with his loan move to Newport County.

Poole was snapped up as a 16-year-old by United back in 2015 after making 15 appearances for County. Now 20, he has won Wales Under 21 caps, spent a season on loan at Northampton and is looking for more first-team experience.

“I'm really happy to be back. As soon as I knew the club wanted me on loan, it was a no-brainer really," said Poole.

“I feel like Newport can get promoted this season and I'm here to try and help them achieve that."

Poole made his United debut as a substitute against Danish club Midtjylland in the Europa League in February, 2015, but hasn't featured since. He made 24 appearances for Northampton last season.

The central defender has spent much of his time at Old Trafford as captain of the Under 23 team.
