Manchester City are splashing out big to sign Southampton prospect Max Alleyene.
The Daily Echo says the two sides reportedly agreed a £1.5million fee for the transfer of then 15-year-old central defender, Alleyne, in the summer, after he had rejected terms for a scholarship at Saints.
And now Alleyne has confirmed the move himself on social media site Instagram, with a message and a picture of him holding up a City shirt.
He said: "To have joined such a hugely successful club is a proud moment for me and all of my family.
“I'll work as hard as I possibly can and I feel that City is the perfect place for me to continue my development and progress as a player.
"I can't wait to get started!"
The Bristol-born defender made his under-18s debut for Saints last season still as a schoolboy.
The youngster was offered a scholarship deal with the club but amid interest from a number of top six clubs, Alleyne's representatives rejected the offer.
