Manchester City have clinched the signing of Celtic teen Josh Martin.
The Telegraph says the teenager has been offered a scholarship at the club with a professional deal when he turns 17, one of a talented cohort of players coming from Scotland that have seen City turn their academy scouting attentions to a country which is transforming its development programmes.
City have pushed ahead with academy recruitment this summer despite the Covid crisis, also agreeing a deal for the Belgian 16-year-old Romeo Lavia, who will join having previously been at Anderlecht, currently managed by former City captain Vincent Kompany.
Lavia, a defensive midfielder, told the club that he would not be signing a professional contract this summer and will join City's development teams on a scholarship deal before he turns professional on his 17th birthday in January.
