DONE DEAL: Maloney leaves Chicago Fire for Hull City

Championships club Hull City have confirmed the signing of Shaun Maloney from Chicago Fire.

The 32-year-old Scottish attacking midfielder has completed a transfer to the KC Stadium after spending just eight months in MLS.

Maloney has signed a two-year deal with the Tigers for an undisclosed fee.

Of his decision to leave the Fire, who signed him as a Designated Player from Wigan Athletic in January, Maloney told the club's official website: “This was a very difficult decision to make but one that I felt I needed to make for various reasons.

“Although my time at the club was brief, I feel very fortunate for the experience to play for the Chicago Fire and would like to thank in particular my team-mates for the time I spent with them and hope that in the future the club can become successful on the pitch once again."
