Jose Gonzalez has been named new coach of Malaga.

Malaga moved quickly after the sacking of Michel on Sunday.

Gonzalez returns to Spanish football after spending last year in China with Beijing Guoan. His last LaLiga job was with Getafe.

Michel was sacked after Friday's defeat to Getafe.

Malaga currently sit 19th in the LaLiga standings and seven points from safety.
