Former Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente has joined Napoli as a free agent.

The ex-Juventus centre-forward returns to Serie A on a two-year Napoli contract.

Llorente 34, said this morning: "I am very happy to start this new adventure with the Napoli team! Surely great moments are waiting for us to live together.

"I will do my best to achieve many important goals. I thank the fans for the affection you have shown me. Forza Napoli."

He also posted to social media: "After two wonderful seasons, today I say goodbye to Tottenham. It was a pleasure to wear this shirt and wherever I go there will always be room in my heart for Tottenham and their fans. I wish you the best for this season and for the future!"
