DONE DEAL: Liverpool defender Morgan Boyes excited about Fleetwood move

Liverpool defender Morgan Boyes is delighted with his loan move to Fleetwood Town.

The 19-year-old, who joins the Cod Army from Premier League champions Liverpool, has signed a season-long loan deal to keep him on the Fylde Coast for the 2020/21 season.

He told Fleetwood's website: "I'm excited to start and play men's football for the first time for a great club like Fleetwood Town. Playing in the under 23s at Liverpool is good but it's not the real game. I want to move into the league and get going with the group of lads that we have here now.

“It's going to be a challenge coming here but I know that and I want to get going straight away. I was in training, my first day today, and there were a few characters in the squad. I think everything went well and luckily everyone was fine with me."

Boyes added: “I'm a good solid defender. I'd like to say I'm a calm defender who likes to play and build up from the back. I don't like to just get rid of it, I'd rather just get the ball down and get the ball up the pitch.

“I like to keep it calm, and prevent silly risks on the ball. Off the pitch though, I'd say that I'm a bit of a character but that will grow as I get to know the new set of lads."
