Frank Lampard has agreed a three-year contract with Chelsea, with an announcement of his appointment as manager expected in 48 hours.
The Blues will pay Derby County around £4m to buy out the remaining two years of Lampard's contract with the Pride Park club, according to Goal.
Lampard, 41, spent 13 years at Chelsea as a player, winning three Premier League titles, a Champions League, four FA Cups, two League Cups and the Europa League.
Derby assistant Jody Morris, who has previously worked with the Blues academy, is among six to eight backroom staff also in talks with the West London outfit.
Highly-rated development squad manager Joe Edwards is also expected to earn a promotion to the first-team.
