DONE DEAL: Jordan Veretout delighted to make move to Roma

Former Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout has completed his move to Roma.

He's joined on loan with obligation to buy from Fiorentina for €17m, plus another €2m in performance-related bonuses.

“Being a Roma player means so much. It was a long negotiation process, but I am now very happy to have arrived at a big club," Veretout told Roma TV.

“The Coach had a big influence too, as he called up and told me this was the right club in which to grow. He explained why he wanted me, that he'd been following me for some time and I'd flourish in his team.

“Now it's up to me to repay that confidence with my work on the pitch, giving my all."

He added, “My first objective is to enjoy myself with this jersey, finish as high up the table as possible and hopefully get the opportunity to win a place in the France squad.

“I tell the fans that I am very happy and hope they are too. I'll fight hard for this jersey, can't wait to wear it and hear those formidable fans cheering us on. They contribute to what makes Roma a special club."
