DONE DEAL: Former Arsenal, Juventus striker Bendtner joins Nottingham Forest

Nicklas Bendtner has completed his transfer to Nottingham Forest.

The 28-year-old Danish striker has joined the Championship club on a two-year deal as a free agent after ending his time with German outfit Wolfsburg in April and is excited to get started with what he describes as a quality club.

"Nottingham Forest is a big club with a great history and I can see myself fitting in here very well," he told Forest's official website.

"The way the head coach (Philippe Montanier) plays football was something that spoke to me and I'm very pleased have signed for Forest.

"The club is rebuilding itself now with some very talented players and I look forward to being a part of that. If we reach our targets then it will be an amazing season. The head coach seems like a very professional guy, a man who wants to play football in the right way and who wants to do well.

"I've had a couple of training sessions already, it's a great group of lads right from the coaching staff to the medical staff to the players. They've taken a lot of time to show me everything here at the club so I'm really pleased."
