DONE DEAL: Ex-Stoke striker Saido Berahino signs with Zulte Waregem

Released Stoke City striker Saido Berahino has signed with Zulte Waregem.

The 26-year-old striker has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with an option for a further 12 months.

Berahino had a training spell with Zulte last week and was convinced to sign a permanent deal with the club after having several conversations with the manager Francky Dury.

The deal comes after tests in France with Nimes.

He said, "Until two months ago, I hadn't thought I'd end up in Belgium, let alone Zulte Waregem.

"In the past month I have regained my confidence and regained my pleasure in football. I'm looking forward to discovering this new competition and giving the best of myself.

"I am aware that if you have played in the Premier League there are expectations. It is up to me to perform on the field every day and make my team-mates, trainers and the fans happy. If we get everyone behind us, we can achieve something good."
