Everton midfielder Gethin Jones has joined Barnsley on loan until the end of the season.

The Wales youth international heads to Oakwell where he will get his first experience of Championship football.

It is the second loan move of Jones' career, following a short stay with League Two Plymouth Argyle in the latter stages of the 2014/15 season.

Jones, a regular for Everton Under-23s this term, has played one competitive first-team match for Everton - a late substitute appearance against FC Krasnodar in the Europa League in December 2014.
