Espanyol have completed the signing of Benfica striker Raul de Tomas.
The Catalans announced this morning De Tomas' return to LaLiga for an initial €20m. A further €2.5m is due in bonuses (€1m if he plays 10 games, one more if Espanyol achieves safety and €500,000 if he scores at least five goals this season).
The deal makes the former Real Madrid striker the richest transfer in Espanyol history - the previous record was the €10.5m paid for Matias Vargas to Velez Sarsfield.
De Tomas' contract runs to 2026 and he will be presented to the local media later this afternoon.
