DONE DEAL: Doucoure moves to Watford from Rennes

Watford have secured the signing of Abdoulaye Doucoure from Ligue 1 club Rennes for a reported £8m.

The 23 year old midfielder's arrival was announced by the Hornets on Twitter: "We're delighted here at #watfordfc to announce the signing of Abdoulaye Doucoure from Ligue 1 club Rennes. Welcome!"

After completing his deal Doucoure will immediately move to Granada on a six-month loan deal. The Spanish side are also owned by the Pozzo family who have a controlling stake in Watford,

Club CEO Scott Duxbury said: "The opportunity to sign Abdoulaye Doucouré now was one we wanted to act upon, given our long-standing interest in the player.

"He is very much part of Watford's future plans, and in the time between now and pre-season he'll be experiencing high-level competitive football in Spain."
