Chelsea are confident closing a deal for Roma fullback Emerson Palmieri.

Following weeks of negotiations with Roma over Palmieri, the Premier League champions look set to complete a move for the Brazilian.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Chelsea have now reached an agreement with Roma.

The 23-year-old could now be unveiled as Chelsea's new player soon as today after Roma accepted an £18m offer with around £4m in add-ons.

The Blues have also been in talks with Roma for forward Edin Dzeko and were hopeful of striking a £44m deal for the pair.
