Chelsea have verbally agreed for Davide Zappacosta to remain with AS Roma next season.

Zappacosta joined Roma in August on a season-long loan, but has been sidelined since September due to a knee injury.

The defender is expected to play again this season and Roma want to keep him into the next campaign.

Corriere dello Sport says Chelsea appreciate the support Roma gave Zappacosta during his injury recovery and have agreed to extend the arrangement another 12 months.

Roma will be able to take the fullback on a free loan, only needing to cover 100 per cent of his salary.
