Brighton midfielder Richie Towell has re-signed with Rotherham United on loan for the remainder of the season.

Towell spent last season on loan at the New York Stadium and was an influential member of the Millers squad that secured promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.

Towell, heavily linked for a return to the Millers ever since the Play-off Final victory over Shrewsbury in May, made 45 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring six goals – with his strike against Northampton winning the goal of the season award.

He first came to English shores with Brighton in 2016, after a successful spell in his native Ireland where he enjoyed a goal-laden stint with Dundalk.
