Herbert Bockhorn has credited Jan Siewert for helping him join Huddersfield Town.
The defender has signed with the Terriers from Borussia Dortmund, where he previously worked with Siewert.
He said: "When he came to Dortmund there was a difference in the team and since the first day, I had a very good relationship with him. He saw something in me and developed something and that was a time I got better as a player.
"I think the relationship got better over time and we both understand and know each other and that's why it works – and will (continue to) work I think.
"I'm a fast player and he helped me learn how to use my speed; that's the key thing. I also learnt lots of tactical things from him.
"We talked a lot before I moved. He said my type of football and my type as a player fits perfectly in English football and he said it's a big chance for me, that's what convinced me to come here."
