DONE DEAL? Bartomeu clinches Barcelona agreement with Griezmann

Barcelona have struck personal terms with Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann, it has been revealed.

Sport, which boasts close ties to Barca, has declared today that Griezmann will be the Catalans' "first signing for season 2018/19".

The deal has been personally driven by Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who is a huge fan of the France international, despite Griezmann's form woes this season.

With an agreement now settled, it's also been revealed mutual penalty clauses are in the contracts. Should Barca choose not to sign Griezmann this summer, the player will be owed a cash penalty. Just as he will have to cough up to Barca should he decide to join another club, like Manchester United.

Barca will avoid any haggling with Atletico's board by paying the €100m buyout clause in Griezmann's deal in June.
