Barcelona have announced the departure of Mike van Beijnen for Genclerbirligi.

The young midfielder only arrived in the summer from NAC Breda, but failed to make an impression with Barca B and has now been allowed to depart for Turkey.

Van Beijnen joined Barca as part of Frenkie de Jong's move from Ajax. The pair are close friends and Van Beijnen is the stepson of De Jong's agent, Ali Dursum.

However, the move didn't work out and he is now in Turkey finalising his transfer to Genclerbirligi.

Van Beijnen and De Jong originally struck up their friendship when they played together for Willem II's youth team.
