DONE DEAL: Aston Villa youngster Indiana Vassilev returns to Inter Miami

Aston Villa youngster Indiana Vassilev has rejoined MLS side Inter Miami CF on a season-long loan deal.

The forward, 21, first linked up with Inter Miami on loan last July and enjoyed 21 appearances, scoring three goals, before returning to Villa Park in November at the end of the regular season.

Vassilev, who has represented the USA at youth level, made his first-team debut for Aston Villa in the FA Cup in January 2020 and went on to make four Premier League appearances during the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

He spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Burton Albion and Cheltenham Town, helping the latter to the League Two title.

Vassilev returns to his home nation to link up with an Inter Miami side managed by Phil Neville, who are currently in 12th place in the Eastern Conference in what is only their third season in the MLS.
