Arsenal midfielder Marcelo Flores has joined Real Oviedo on a season-long loan.

The 18-year-old will spend the next campaign in the second tier of Spanish football to continue his development, having joined Arsenal from Ipswich Town in 2019.

Flores enjoyed a successful 2021/22 season across the academy, where he made 22 appearances, scoring 11 goals and getting three assists, and those impressive performances earned him a place in the senior squad for our away fixture at Crystal Palace in the Premier League back in early April of this year.

He has also been capped three times for the full Mexico side, with his international debut coming just a couple of months after his 18th birthday, when he featured against Chile in December 2021.
