Former Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz has returned to Real Mallorca.

Having retired last season, Aduriz has been named assistant to Mallorca's director of football Pablo Ortells.

Aduriz had two seasons with Mallorca during his playing career.

The LaLiga outfit announced:

"Aritz Aduriz joins RCD Mallorca as an assistant to the Sports Directorate. The former striker defended the Mallorcan shield between 2008 and 2010 and during his career he was international on 13 occasions. Now, Aduriz joins the sports management led by Pablo Ortells as an adjunct."
