DONE DEAL? Angel Gomes leaving Man Utd for Boavista - via Lille

Released Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes is set to continue his career in Portugal.

Gomes' father is a U20 World Cup winner with Portugal. The youngster has now agreed terms with Lille.

The midfielder had failed to agree personal terms on a new deal at Old Trafford and became a free agent once his contract ended in July.

However, United will still be able to claim compensation of around €300,000.

Gomes has signed a five year contract but will be loaned out to Lille's sister club, Portuguese side Boavista, to gain more experience.

Lille sports chief Luis Campos has outlined the career plan to Gomes and his representatives.
