Doncaster Rovers want Sunderland's Northern Ireland striker David Healy on loan for their promotion bid.

Rovers want to sort out terms in time for Healy to make the switch before the weekend and join them for three months as they try to push for the Premier League.

Healy has asked Steve Bruce to let him go for some first-team action and expects the go-ahead in time for a debut at Watford - followed by a clash with former club Leeds United.
