Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov has played down talk of a deal for Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland.
The pair played together at Manchester City.
"People are putting two and two together, possibly with Stephen being a friend of mine,'' he said.
''But there's been no approach made for him.''
