Former Atletico Madrid midfielder Donato has urged Vinicius Junior to follow the instructions of Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui.
Donato insists Vinicius must remain humble, despite his frustration over a lack of first team action.
He said, "Vinicius has to talk about Lopetegui's decisions with great respect, and if he considers that the player has to go in reserve, there is nothing to complain about.
"He sees the player and decides. In general, however, it is shocking that a player who has been bought for €45m, and who comes from a very important club in Brazil, plays in the second division.
"The player participates in a very strong competition, the best in the world, and must be prepared to the maximum. Playing for Real Madrid is not easy and it's particularly difficult for a young footballer, no matter how talented he is.
"That said, I think the Castilla is small. I say it with respect, but that's what I think."
