Everton defender Sylvain Distin denies they're out of the top four race after recent results.
Everton are five points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and they have now managed only one win in four games.
He said: "Have you seen how many teams since the start of the season have been written off and then come back?
"Every time you lose people write you off. Every time you win you're back in the race. It doesn't interest us. If it did we should stop playing football right now, shouldn't we?
"One game doesn't define your season, otherwise you would pick every time you win or every time you lose and say that's the one that did it.
"Have you seen the results in this league? Did you see Arsenal the other day? The reality is this is an amazing league and anything can happen any single week.
"The most frustrating thing is that Tottenham are a direct opponent in the race for a European place. If we win that game it would have given us a bit more protection.
"Now it's going to be more difficult. We didn't score and they did with their only chance. It's difficult to take. But there are plenty more points to take."
