Leeds United remain in the hunt for Croatia Under-21 defender Josko Gvardiol.
Leeds are keen despite Dinamo Zagreb's attempts to draw them into a bidding war with RB Leipzig.
Leipzig are interested in Gvardiol and are prepared to buy him and loan him back to Dinamo for this season, reports the Mirror.
Leeds want the 18-year-old now and feel they may have an advantage over Leipzig because they are prepared to offer more of Dinamo's £18million asking price up front.
Dinamo's elimination from the Champions League qualifiers could ease Gvardiol's departure and they wanted to keep him while they were still in with a chance of reaching the lucrative group stages.
