Ecuador left-back Diego Palacios has turned down Barcelona to commit to Los Angeles FC.

The SD Aucas defender, who was on-loan with Willem II last season, had an offer from Barca to sign with the B team.

Sport says he's turned down Barça and will sign with Los Angeles on a four-year deal.

One of the reasons behind the decision is the arrival of Junior Firpo.

Palacios was disappointed to learn that Barça had signed another young left-back and saw it as an obstacle in reaching the first team. In addition, Los Angeles made a better financial offer.
