Former Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio blocked a summer switch to Borussia Dortmund for Ji Dong-won, it has been revealed.
Ji attracted interest from several major Bundesliga clubs thanks to a successful loan with Augsburg last season.
The Sunderland Echo says Sunderland rejected a £5million offer from Borussia Dortmund after ex-boss Di Canio believed the former Chunnam Dragons man would develop into a big asset for the Black Cats.
