Details are crucial to Bristol boss Coppell

Bristol City boss Steve Coppell is aiming to ensure preparations for the forthcoming season are spot on. Coppell is planning City`s pre-season programme in painstaking detail to ensure that when his players report back later this week there will be no distractions as they prepare for the opening npower Championship game at home to promoted Millwall on August 7.

"My aim is to create an environment where the players have no excuses. I want them to turn up and for everything to be sorted for them, so they only have to think about training and playing," Coppell told the Evening Post.

"My intention is to leave no stone unturned and for all the small details to be attended to so they can concentrate on being ready for the first game.

"We have a new kit supplier and we have to make sure all the kit is ready in time and available when we need it. Balls, bibs and cones are all mundane things but we have to make sure they are right. If they are not right then you look stupid and I don't want to look stupid.

"It is a case of ticking the boxes and making sure everything is right. I want the facilities down at the training ground to be right and the pitches to be as good as they can be."
