QPR veteran Shaun Derry has welcomed the rash of new signings this summer.

The midfielder is happy to battle for his place at Loftus Road.

"There are players that can cover all positions and to get players from the likes of Manchester United coming here, it's great for the club," said Derry.

"Competition is going to be unbelievable. Last year was fantastic to play in. I'm hopeful that I can stick around and prove a point next season.

"I'm hopeful that's going to be the case and until I'm told otherwise, I'll carry on doing what I'm doing. I've got confidence in my own ability, but it's up to what the manager sees.

"Until I'm told otherwise, I'll just crack on, like I have done throughout my career."
