Derby's Holmes confident of breakthrough

Derby County winger Lee Holmes is confident of establishing himself at Pride Park.

Holmes, 20, is back in the media spotlight this week after seeing John Bostock make his Crystal Palace debut as a 15 year-old.

Derby midfielder Holmes also made his first start at the same age and told the Daily Mail: "I've made almost 100 appearances now as a professional. I've been injured for a while - and I'm still only 20. It's different when you are so young, being asked to play, but I looked upon it as a positive."

"I saw a couple of things John did - and he looks to be a good prospect. I didn't understand really the enormity of what I was doing at the time. Perhaps he doesn't. There were no negatives as far as I was concerned, though. As long as he continues to write his own history for the right reasons, I'm sure he'll be fine."
