Derby defender Bob Malcolm has been suspended by the club after being charged by police with a drink driving offence.
The charge relates to an alleged incident on the M1 motorway in Derbyshire on Thursday morning.
Malcolm, who is currently on loan with QPR until January 1, has been bailed to appear before Chesterfield Magistrates Court on January 16.
The 27-year-old, who has made just 14 appearances for Derby since a free transfer from Rangers in September last year, is now the subject of an internal investigation into the matter.
For legal reasons, Derby are making no further comment pending the findings of the investigation and outcome of the court hearing.
